On May 8, 2024, Headway Gauteng hosted its 8th Annual Golf Day at the prestigious Killarney Country Club. This event not only brought together golf enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition but also showcased the incredible power of community and the impact of Headway Gauteng’s work.

Headway Gauteng is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by brain injuries. Events like the Annual Golf Day not only raise funds to support their vital programs but also raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living with brain injuries and their families.

The success of this year’s event was truly remarkable, with Headway Gauteng raising an impressive R150,000.00, thanks in part to a generous donation from an anonymous sponsor. These funds will go a long way in supporting the organization’s mission to provide rehabilitation, support, and advocacy for brain injury survivors.

But the impact of the Golf Day extended beyond just fundraising. In true Headway style, participants came together to pay it forward, collecting R4,320.00 to support the Rescue EMS crew at the site of a collapsed building in George. This act of generosity demonstrates the compassion and community spirit that lies at the heart of Headway Gauteng’s work.

The Golf Day also provided an opportunity for participants to connect, share experiences, and build relationships. For brain injury survivors and their families, events like these offer a chance to feel supported and understood by others who have faced similar challenges.

Of course, no golf tournament would be complete without some friendly competition and amazing prizes. Congratulations to all the winners, and a huge thank you to the donors and sponsors who made the prizes and gorgeous shirts possible.
